We are pleased to announce the Dorthea B. Shaw Scholarship
for students living in Duval county and attending College or University in the Northeastern
United States. The scholarship is awarded annually to a high school graduate.
Northeastern states are identified as : CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ,
NY, PA, RI, and VT. The scholarship will be in the amount of $6,000 paid
out over four years ($1500 per year). All applicants must have at least a
3.0 grade point average (un-weighted) and plan to attend an accredited post
secondary institution on a full time basis. Verification of enrollment from the
institution must be received by The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida
before funds will be released.
In selecting the successful candidate, the review committee
will consider the following: academic achievements, leadership experience,
desire for personal growth and financial need.
