The Jacksonville Agricultural Fair Association’s purpose in
offering these scholarships is to encourage personal growth and assistance to
qualified students planning to major in agriculture, veterinary medicine and
other fields of study. To be eligible a student must reside in one of
the following Florida counties: Duval, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Nassau, or St.
Johns, and who are at least a senior in high school, enrolled or planning to
enroll in a four year university, junior college, or technical institution.
Only completed scholarship packages will be reviewed by the scholarship Committee. The complete package must include the
following:
- The application
- The applicant’s essay (not to exceed one page, briefly discussing their background and lists of any awards, special recognition, community, high school, or religious organizations in which they are now or have been involved and their leadership experience within those organizations.
- Three (3) original letters of recommendation (not to exceed one page) which should be written on letterhead of the person making the recommendation
All of the above requested
items must arrive at the same time in the offices of the Jacksonville Fair no
later than October 1st. All applicants will be notified of the
results during the first week of the Greater Jacksonville Fair where the names
of the scholarship winners will be announced.
