Volunteer/Community Service Opportunity - Mayor's Holiday Festival


Mayor Alvin Brown is hosting a Holiday Festival for people 60+ years old on December 6th, 2014. Volunteers are needed for this event to assist with tasks listed below. 3,000 people will be served dinner within one hour! This is an approved Bright Futures Community Service Hours event.  

JOB DESCRIPTIONS 
Set up – Need 100 people
Hours - 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

  • Set up tables (tablecloths, serving ware, and goody bags, and centerpieces) 
  • Stuff goody bags with cookie, fruit and other items (sample provided) 
  • Pie – cut, place on plates, place plate on tables 
Greeters - Need 8-12 people 
Hours: 1 – 2 p.m.
  • Monitor entrances
  • Collect tickets
  • Direct people to seating areas
Food servers – need 150 people
Hours - 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.
  • Serve people dinner
  • Work with monitors and coordinator for orderly, fast serving.   Need assistance with cleanup of Convention Center.  This will require 
  • Clear tables.
